Chitwan National Park is recognized as the best conservation area in all of Asia with a fascinating range of wildlife roaming free in its jungles and grasslands. With their well preserved natural habitat where animals are thriving , this national park boasts of A total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna and 126 species of fish have been recorded in the park, Among these are the endangered species: the most sought after, Royal Bengal tiger and the Greater one-horned rhinoceros.
Bardiya National Park is a protected area in Nepal that was established in 1988 as Royal Bardia National Park. Covering an area of 968 km2 (374 sq mi) it is the largest and most undisturbed national park in Nepal’s Terai, adjoining the eastern bank of the Karnali River and bisected by the Babai River in the Bardiya District. It is home to at least 53 mammals including Indian rhinoceros, Indian elephant, Bengal tiger, barasingha, and Gangetic dolphin.

Once you arrive in Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly greeted and welcomed with “Khada” by our representative who will assist and transfer you towards your hotel. After check-In, all necessary travel documents will be handed over to you along with a short briefing on your tour.
After breakfast, you will delve into the historical treasures of Kathmandu Durbar Square, including Hanuman Dhoka, Parvati and Mahadev temple, Kumari Palace, Taleju temple, and more. Kathmandu Durbar Square, situated in the heart of Kathmandu, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning architecture, palaces, temples, and courtyards. It was once the royal palace of the Malla and Shah kings of Nepal. The square is a bustling hub of activity, with locals and tourists alike wandering amidst the intricately carved wooden buildings, ancient temples, and statues. It’s a vibrant showcase of Nepalese art, culture, and history.
Then, visit the iconic Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple due to the large population of monkeys inhabiting the area, it holds significant religious and cultural importance for Buddhists. The stupa is adorned with colorful prayer flags, intricate carvings, and numerous small shrines. Visitors can ascend the steep staircases to reach the main stupa, where they can enjoy panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley.
Lastly, we’ll visit Patan Durbar Square, One of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in the city of Patan (also known as Lalitpur), just south of Kathmandu. Here, you will see the traditional Newari architecture and intricate stone carvings of temples and palaces.
After breakfast, you will depart Kathmandu and drive to Chitwan, a journey that takes approximately 5-6 hours. Upon arrival in Chitwan, you will check into your hotel and have a delicious lunch & some time to rest and freshen up.
In the afternoon, you will begin your jungle activities. You have the opportunity to visit a local village and learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Tharu people. In the evening, you will attend a cultural performance featuring traditional Tharu music and dance.
After breakfast, you will continue your jungle adventure with a full day of activities. You will go on a canoe ride down the Rapti River, where you can observe various species of birds, crocodiles, and other wildlife. You will also have the opportunity to go on a jeep safari to explore the jungle and see animals such as one-horned rhinoceroses, Bengal tigers, and sloth bears.
Canoe Safari: A canoe ride is an excellent way to enjoy the unique eco system around the rivers and floodplains. Mugger crocodiles and Gharials basking on banks, storks, ducks, kingfishers along with otters, turtles and if lucky, even a fishing cat, are some of the creatures to watch out for. The comfortable wooden oar boats glide noiselessly, maneuvered by expert oarsmen while naturalists explain the world around the water. The boats are equipped with life jackets and the boatmen are expert swimmers who also act as life guards.
Bird Watching: Chitwan is rightly considered a birdwatchers’ paradise. Exotic birds such as the highly endangered Bengal florican and the glorious paradise flycatcher, as well as a range of colorful sunbirds, kingfishers and jungle fowl, call this forest their home.
Jeep Safari/Safari Drives: Safari drives are conducted by expert naturalists in specially designed 4X4 vehicles with theatre style seating. Along with the thrill of tiger tracking, is a memorable stop for a picnic breakfast. The dense jungles of Chitwan have large stretches of Sal with a closed canopy. A safari drive through these patches, with trees towering above and reams of sunlight breaking through the thick canopy is an enchanting experience. Seated in a specially designed safari vehicle, guests drive around the jungle, accompanied by a trained naturalist and an experienced tracker from the local community. The one horned Rhinoceros is the star of Chitwan and are usually spotted in open woods and grasslands. Along with mammals, the forest has 56 species of reptiles and amphibians, the most commonly spotted ones being the monitor lizards and pythons.
After breakfast, you will embark on an exciting day filled with immersive jungle activities, starting with a visit to the Elephant Breeding Center, where you will learn about the conservation efforts and daily care of these magnificent animals. Next, you will explore the traditional Tharu Village, offering a fascinating insight into the unique culture, lifestyle, and customs of the indigenous Tharu people. As the day progresses, you will be captivated by the vibrant Tharu Cultural Dance, a lively performance that beautifully showcases their rich heritage through music and movement. To conclude the day, a guided jungle walk will take you deep into the lush wilderness, providing an opportunity to observe diverse flora and fauna while learning about the region’s incredible biodiversity from experienced naturalists.
Elephant Breeding Center Tour
The Elephant Breeding Center, located in Sauraha, Chitwan, offers a unique opportunity to observe and learn about the conservation and breeding of the endangered Asian elephants. Established to protect and increase the elephant population in Nepal, the center provides insight into the care and training of these gentle giants. Visitors can witness the daily routines of elephants, including feeding and interactions between mothers and their calves. The knowledgeable staff at the center share valuable information about the challenges of elephant conservation and the efforts being made to ensure their well-being.
Tharu Village Tour
A Tharu Village tour offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich cultural heritage and traditional lifestyle of the indigenous Tharu community of the Terai region. The performance is both entertaining and educational, giving visitors a chance to appreciate the Tharu people’s deep-rooted connection with their surroundings through music and movement.
Guided Jungle Walk
A guided jungle walk in Chitwan National Park provides an up-close and personal encounter with the region’s diverse flora and fauna. Led by experienced naturalists, the walk takes you through lush forests, grasslands, and wetlands, offering opportunities to spot wildlife such as deer, rhinos, monkeys, and a variety of bird species. The guide shares knowledge about the park’s rich biodiversity, tracking techniques, and the delicate balance of the ecosystem. This eco-friendly adventure allows visitors to connect with nature while ensuring minimal impact on the environment, making it an unforgettable wilderness experience. In the evening, you will enjoy specialty dinner and enjoy at your hotel for the night.

Bid farewell to Chitwan as you depart for Lumbini. It was in Lumbini, around the year 563 BC, that is one of history’s greatest and most revered figures, Siddhartha Gautama – better known as the Buddha – was born. It’s no great surprise to learn that the World Heritage–listed Lumbini is of huge religious significance and attracts Buddhist pilgrims from around the world.
Upon arrival, you’ll be driven to your hotel, where you’ll check in and Rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast, you’ll begin your scenic journey to Bardiya, which will take approximately 7-8 hours (around 270 km). Along the way, you’ll pass through beautiful countryside, small villages, and lush landscapes. The drive offers glimpses of rural Nepal, where you can observe traditional life in the Terai region. You’ll have a few breaks to stretch and enjoy the view, including a lunch stop at a local restaurant en route.
Upon arrival in Bardiya, you’ll check in at your jungle resort, nestled in the heart of nature. After some time to settle in, you’ll have the option to take a walk around the resort, experiencing the peaceful surroundings of the jungle. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Tharu cultural performance that showcases the vibrant dances and customs of the local community. The resort will then serve a delicious dinner, where you can unwind and relax after the journey.

After breakfast, prepare for a river safari in the Karnali river. Cruising on the wide expanse of the river, pockets of rapids propel the boats along as gentle waves lap at the sides. Sitting inside a hand – carved boat, keep your eyes peeled for a variety of birdlife and wildlife. Top of the list is the endangered fish – eating Gharial crocodile and its more sinister relative, the Marsh Mugger.
A Nepali – style lunch will be served back at the Lodge; after which you might want to head to the hammock with your book for relaxation. In the late afternoon, when the weather is cooler and the animals become active, meet with our naturalist for a jeep safari in the national park. Explore nature in the comfort and convenience of one of our classic vintage Land Rover. During the safari you will encounter wildlife such as different species of deer, birds, monkeys, and the endangered one – horned rhinoceros. Bardia National Park also offers good chances of spotting the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.

Wake up early and prepare for the day’s adventures with a hearty breakfast. Then strap on your walking boots, take a sturdy bamboo walking stick and prepare for a day of pure exploration and excitement! There will be a premade lunch ready along with refreshments to keep you going through the day. A Land Rover will take you to the National Park Entrance and in to the very heart of the national park. Your day will be spent in the Land Rover and on foot scouting out the undergrowth for those elusive big cats.
Walk down a jungle path by the Sal trees, listen out for the sounds of orioles and hornbills to one of the many “hides”, where patience is a key, as you settled own with a cup of tea and wait for any movement, maybe a rhino, maybe a jungle cat… maybe something else! After the hide, jump back in the Land Rover and allow the guide to give you a tour of the parts of the jungle. See a varied range of not only different kinds of habitats but of wildlife also. By now your finger will be worn out from all of the clicking and photo taking but keep it strong- early evening around dusk is a great time for spotting leopard and other big cats. Keep an eye out during your trip for the claw marks on trees left by tigers who were sharpening their claws and marking their territory. Stop for a drink from the cool box, soak up the last of the rays bursting their way through the canopy as you head back to the lodge. This is the last chance to scan for glimpse of a Sloth bear or Wild boar. Back at the lodge, kick off the walking boots, and put your feet up before dinner is served.
Morning after a leisurely breakfast, your luggage will be loaded aboard one of the vehicles to take you on the two-hour drive to Nepalgunj airport in good time for your scheduled flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
