Upon arrival in Guwahati, (morning arrival assumed) you will be met and taken to visit Kamakhya Devi Temple– on Nilachal hill, 08 kms west of Guwahati city, is one of the most sacred shaktipeeths in India. The temple is dedicated to goddess Kamakhya an incarnation of Sati. It says the Shiva Purana, that the yoni or creative organ of Sati fell when Vishnu, in a bid to save the world from the Shiva’s tandava nrittya or dance of destruction, cut her dead body into 51 pieces with his suddarshan chakra. The garbhagriha deep inside the temple, marks the sacred spot and is kept covered with red silken cloth.
Later we visit the famous Umananda Temple–dedicated to Lord Shiva on Peacock Island by public ferry. Afterwards check-in into your hotel for relaxed evening or walk around the market area.
Today morning after relaxed breakfast drive to Shillong with enroute stopover at Umiam Lake to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. enroute visiting Don Bosco Cultural Museum & check into your hotel.
Seven storeys of fascinating visuals, colours, and treasures – that is one way to describe Don Bosco Museum. You will first be greeted by the traditional wear of all the different North-Eastern communities as you enter the building, including well-researched sections on the neighbouring countries like Bhutan, Myanmar, and Nepal. The photography section is loaded with rare photos – you can spend hours lost exploring these snippets of tribal life taken across the region and spanning many generations. Other highlights of the Museum include the Pre-history Gallery which sheds more light on the origins and migrations of the tribes, and the Land and People Gallery where you can learn more about the beautiful terrain and how it shaped the practices and lifestyles of the indigenous people who call it home. It is adorned with sculptures and portraits.
Evening explore the famous Mall Road on your own
Today After breakfast we proceed towards Sacred Forest at Mawphlang, starting point of famous David Scott Trail.
David Scott, a British Administrator was instrumental in the building of the trail in 1829. The Trail, previously part of a network of foot and horse paths used by the indigenous Khasi criss-crossing the hills as well as more established trade routes, was expanded to increase trade between Guwahati in Assam, Shillong and Sohra (Cherrapunji) in Meghalaya, and Sylhet in Bangladesh. When it was developed, the entire trail from Assam to Bangladesh covered about 130 miles.
After completing a portion of this trail, we continue our driving to Cherrapunji and visit Arwah Cave & Nohkalikai Waterfalls before we settle down in our hotel for relaxed evening & overnight stay.
After breakfast, we start our day long trek to visit the Double Decker Living Root bridge. After spending some time and lunch in a local house/homestay we trek back to the starting point and drive back to our hotel for Overnight stay.
Living root bridges are a unique form of bio-architecture, where bridges are constructed by training the aerial roots of Indian rubber fig trees (Ficus elastica) to grow across rivers and streams, a practice primarily found in the Khasi and Jaintia hills of Meghalaya

Visit Single living root bridge, Seven Sister’s Water Falls, Mawsmai Cave & Dainthlem Waterfalls.
After breakfast we drive to Dawki – the border town between India and Bangladesh. In Dawki you can also see the Suspension bridge above the Umngot River. The suspension bridge was constructed during the British rule. You can also enjoy a country boat ride in the Umngot River. The specialty of Umngot River is that – the water is very crystal clear even you can see the ground.
Next we drive towards Mawlynnong– also known as the “cleanest village in Asia”. You can observe the cleanliness of the village by taking a short walk.
Later we visit the nearby Riwai village and walk around the Single Decker Living Root Bridge.
Note: Water activities are subject to river & weather conditions.
After breakfast we drive to Jowai to pay visit to Krangsuri Waterfalls & Jowai local market. Continue our drive and before reaching Shillong we also visit Laitlum Canyons. On arrival check in to your hotel.
Discover the enchanting Krangshuri Falls in Meghalaya. Immerse in the pristine beauty of cascading waters surrounded by lush greenery. Laitlum Canyons – Also referred to as ‘Scotland of The East’ because of the striking similarity between landscapes – the rolling lush green hills, winding roads and valleys with glistening waterfalls.
Evening free to relax or stroll around The Mall Road.
Morning after breakfast we drive to Kaziranga National Park. On arrival check in to your hotel.

Kaziranga National Park is spread over 850 sq kms across Golaghat, Nagaon and Sonitpur districts. Kaziranga National Park is also designated World Natural Heritage sites by UNESCO in 1985. Originally established as a reserve forest in 1908, Kaziranga was declared a sanctuary in 1916 to counter excessive poaching, especially of its most prized inhabitant, the rhinoceros.
IMP NOTE: Kaziranga National Park is officially closed between 01st May TILL 31st Oct every year.
